Anatomy of a theme

Start with colors. Omarchy builds the app configurations.

Start from a theme you like

Copy a bundled theme from /usr/share/omarchy/themes/ into a new directory under ~/.config/omarchy/themes/. Your copy appears in the theme picker.

Give it your colors

Edit colors.toml to set the palette used across Omarchy’s apps and shell. For a light theme, set mode = "light".

03

Add a view worth keeping

Put wallpapers in the theme’s backgrounds/ folder. Switch backgrounds with Super + Ctrl + Space.

Give your theme a home

Publish to a public Git repository named omarchy-your-name-theme. Others can install it from that repository URL.
